*Smacks title bar with righteous fury!* Title should be written as "Charlie & the Chocolate Factory", thank you very much.
The other day I read Roald Dahl's Charlie & the Chocolate Factory for the first time since I was a kid. It was all such wonderful fun, that I just had to draw some fanart!...Then I went a little nuts with it, because apparantly I'm an obsessive-compulsive artistic masochist. Ah, well! I drew the famous Chocolate Room, iconographic scene of the whole story, and so much fun to color, with all those bright rainbow hues of the candy scenery! Leading the way, of course, is Mr. Willy Wonka, the eccentric, reclusive chocolatier in his famous purple coat and top hat. (Apologies to any Johnny Depp fans, and no apologies to any Gene Wilder fans, but the great Quentin Blake's illustrations will always be number one in my heart as far as this character's visual design.  ) Following him are the five children who found the lucky golden children, arranged in order of their elimination through their own tragic flaws--piggish Augustus Gloop, spot-seeking Violet Beauregard, spoiled Veruca Salt, and skeptical, violent Mike Teevee. Then we have our hero, poor but kind Charlie Bucket. Hooray!And, here! You can watch my progress...
